Introduction to Aleena
Hello! My name is Aleena Oakley, and I am a 19-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am a sophomore currently currently enrolled as an international business major. I chose this as my major because I love to travel. I have been playing tennis for 14 years, and I love the sport. I am enrolled at Johnson C. Smith because I was apart of the Women's tennis team here, but I gave that up to focus on my academics and maintain my academic scholarship. Last semester I had a 4.0 GPA, so I hope to keep that up. I like to listen to good music and dance Some of my favorite music genres are Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and alternative. One of my favorite hobbies besides listening to music is editing and creating Youtube videos. I recently started Youtube in late November and I post every week. When I'm not making videos, I like to watch tv shows and movies on Hulu and Netflix.
Some of my favorite shows are Good Girls, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Orange is the new Black and Broad City. One thing I love to do is travel, and over winter break, I actually traveled quite a lot. Over the break, I travelled to Alabama, New Orleans, Jamaica, Mexico and the Cayman Islands! It was an enjoyable experience, and I feel refreshed whenever I come back from a nice trip. My favorite places that I visited was Jamaica and New Orleans. Jamaica was one of my favorites because I got to visit my Dad's family there, and I got to eat good food like Jerk chicken and shop for souvenirs. New Orleans was also one of my favorites because I got to explore the city with my mom and sister and we got to eat good Louisiana food. When I am not traveling, I like to spend my time at home relaxing with my pet rabbit named Cookie, I have had her since May of 2019.

Hey Aleena !
ReplyDeleteIt so great to read about your story I like that you gave tennis up to focus on your academics , One question though " How did you get through without playing tennis and just being a regular full time student?" I couldn't picture myself giving something up that I love to enjoy. I always wanted to be a you-tuber and I've actually started my YouTube account maybe we can subscribe to each others contents i would love to check out some of your videos! We have some great things in common like the music and dance part , what type of dance do you enjoy or do ? Looks like your trip to Cayman Island was wonderful based of the beautiful ocean picture!
Hi Aleena,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to our class! I am looking forward to reading more of your blog posts this semester!
Hello Aleena, it is nice to meet you. I too enjoy How I Met Your Mother, i must've watched it at least 3 times all the way through. I find it interesting that your major is international business. I hope that with the major you get to travel to places you've never been before since you enjoy traveling so much. I look forward to a great semester! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Aleena,
ReplyDeleteIt’s very cool that you’ve gotten to travel to so many places over Christmas break at such a young age. Those places probably don’t include where you have been prior to Christmas break. It’s also neat you choose to indulge in the culture of the places you’re traveling to and eat their food. I’m such a picky eater when I travel. I always play it safe.
